Satanic Temple Holiday Display Returns To Illinois State Capitol And Installs ‘Baby Baphomet’ Manger Scene As Roman Catholics Call On Virgin Mary

A Satanic Temple holiday display has made a reappearance under the Illinois State Capitol dome with a ‘baby Baphomet’ manger scene purporting to show birth of Satan.

It’s sad and ironic at the same time, on one hand you have the Satanic Temple installing a ‘baby Baphomet’ holiday manger scene, and on the other hand you have incensed Roman Catholics invoking the Virgin Mary goddess to do battle with them. I don’t know whether to laugh or cry at this living Chick tract tableau we have going on here. Talk about your end times, man, wild stuff.

Give the Devil his due, he’s the 4th most-powerful being in the universe, and sooner rather than later, he’s going to come on the scene for a 7-year joy ride. Isaiah 10:5 calls him the Assyrian, and will be the rod of God’s judgment during the time of Jacob’s trouble. So given every thing that’s been going on for the past 21 months, I think it’s quite fitting that ‘baby Baphomet’ and the followers of the counterfeit biblical Mary are in the headlines together. Why? Because they’re not enemies, they’re both working for the same side. Son of Perdition, say hello to the Queen of Heaven. Oh, and one more thing. Mary doesn’t crush the serpent, King Jesus Christ alone will accomplish that. To the FIGHT!!!

Satanic holiday display installed at Illinois Capitol

FROM ABC NEWS 20: Members of the Satanic Temple of Illinois came to Springfield, Ill. Monday to install a Satanic display in the rotunda. The installation depicts the deity Baphomet as a baby. Satanic Temple members said that the display is meant to represent plurality, unity, compassion, and empathy, and described it as “a display of positive values.”

“The Capitol welcomes a diverse range of religions every year to display holiday statues during the holiday season, so we wanted to join in on that,” Satanic Temple of Illinois Minister Adam said. “Minister Adam” did not provide a surname.

Just feet away from the Satanic display, members of the Catholic group “American Society for the Defense of Tradition, Family, and Property” gathered to protest. Parishioners held banners reading, “Satan has no rights” and “Mary crushes the serpent.”

On Nov. 30, the Springfield Diocese installed a Nativity scene in the rotunda. During that installation, Bishop Thomas Paprocki said there was no place for Satanic displays in the Capitol, or anywhere.

The Satanic Temple of Illinois says they invited Paprocki to participate in the installation of their display, but he did not make an appearance. The Baphomet statue is on loan from the Satanic Temple in Salem, Mass.

A sign from the State of Illinois sits in the rotunda in front of all holiday displays and says:

“The State of Illinois is required by the First Amendment of the United States Constitution to allow temporary, public display in the state capitol so long as these displays are not paid for by taxpayer dollars. Because the first floor of the Capitol rotunda is a public place, state officials cannot legally censor the content of speech or displays. The United States Supreme Court has held that public officials may legally impose reasonable time, place and manner restrictions regarding displays and speech, but no regulation can be based on the content of the speech.” READ MORE
