NUTS TO YOU: Heretic John MacArthur Reveals He Knows Nothing About The Bible, Says Jesus Christ Did Not Pay For The Sins Of The Whole World

John MacArthur is not a Bible teacher, he is a spokesmodel for the thoughts, musings and private interpretations of a 16th century theologian named John Calvin.

On one hand, this is funny stuff, listening to false teacher and the biblically illiterate John MacArthur trying in vain to do an “open forum” question and answer session. People attending that event got as much “bible” as they would have had they stayed home and played Pokémon or spent time talking with their cat Teddy. On the other hand, it is heartbreaking to see a man in the ministry for 40 years, and unable to answer even the most basic of Bible questions.

“And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.” 1 John 2:2 (KJB)

“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.” Romans 5:8-11 (KJB)

One mark of a false teacher is that when asked a question about Bible doctrine, they reply with their opinion instead of Scripture, or they quote a verse and then immediately launch into their private interpretation. Listen to what John MacArthur said to this poor woman asking him about the atonement for sin Jesus made on the cross for the sins of the whole world.

MacArthur said: “If you believe that Jesus provided an atonement for every human being who ever lived, then everyone would go to Heaven, right? But we know that since there is a Hell, and lost people go there, that He actually didn’t die for everyone”.

What do we call this? Is it heresy, is it blasphemy, is it idiocy, what exactly do we call it? How about we call it a little bit of all three? But truth be told, John MacArthur is not teaching anyone the Bible, and never has, what he is doing is spreading the thoughts and musings of John Calvin. This is why John MacArthur says nonsense like God will forgive someone who takes the Mark of the Beast if they ask Him to. Revelation 14:9-11 (KJB) proves that’s a lie, just like the Bible proves MacArthur is lying about the shed blood atonement of Jesus on the cross. So allow me to take a moment and teach MacArthur’s followers the truth about the atonement in easy-to-understand bullet points.

  • JESUS PAID FOR ALL SIN ON THE CROSS: “Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus. Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.” Romans 3:25-27 (KJB) Jesus went to the cross, shed His blood for all men, “for whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:5-13 (KJB)
  • JESUS BLOOD PAYS FOR ALL MEN: “For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.” 1 Timothy 2:3-6 (KJB) When lost sinners stand before the Lord Jesus Christ, they will be without excuse. Why? Because Jesus will tell them “I paid for YOUR SINS, and YOU REFUSED THE PAYMENT“. Because MacArthur is a Calvinist and not a Bible believer, he is unable to grasp this most basic tenet of Bible doctrine.
  • JESUS DIED FOR WHOSOEVER: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16 (KJB) How is it possible that God can save who so ever calls on Him? Because the ONE payment He made on the cross is for ALL men. That means that a payment was made for Adolf Hitler every bit as much as it was made for you. Oh yeah, man, that’ll preach!

So if Jesus paid for the sins of the whole world, and He did, why do lost people still go to Heaven? Because we live in the Church Age under the gospel of the grace of God, and the requirement for you receiving the payment is to believe that Jesus is the Saviour and that He shed His blood for you. That’s what Paul and Silas told the Philippian jailer, that’s what Paul tells us in Romans, that’s what John tells us in his epistles, that’s how you become a Christian. It’s so easy to understand if you believe the Bible, and impossible to grasp if you teach the doctrines of men. John Macarthur is a wolf in wolf’s clothing, follow him to your own peril.
