Dwight L. Moody had a fourth grade education, virtually no Bible training, yet rose to become the greatest evangelist since the apostle Paul. How did that all transpire? Moody trusted the Lord.

When I first got saved, and eventually the Lord led me to my first Baptist church, the pastor there was a graduate of the Moody Bible Institute of Chicago, and he had a great library filled with some amazing first edition books. He lent me his copy of a book called D.L. Moody, Written By His Son, and soon I was absolutely captivated with the incredible story of the 19-century evangelist with a fourth grade education that God used to preach to over 100 million people. So here I am 31 years later, still saved, still serving on the front lines for the Lord Jesus Christ, with the only Christian bookstore in America’s oldest city.

“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” Proverbs 3:5,6 (KJB)

When you dig into the life of Moody, it becomes a fascinating ride as you watch a man with very little formal education and almost no biblical education, follow the Lord Jesus Christ in faith and obedience as God expands his coasts step-by-step.
