LGBTQIA+ Affirming Pope Francis Says That Gays Should Be Welcomed Into The Church And That God Loves Them Just The Way They Are, But Does He?

Pope Francis has now become the LGBTQIA+ affirming leader of the Roman Catholic Church, can openly gay priests and bishops be far behind?

Let me start by saying that I believe with all my heart that we who are saved should bring the gospel of the grace of God to the lost LGBTQIA+ community with every opportunity and door that the Lord opens for us. No question about it. That said, when you talk about letting people into the church as members, certain qualifications must be met. The main qualification of course, established by Jesus in the book of John, you must be born again. If you can’t meet that requirement you have no business joining any church started by Jesus Christ.

Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born? Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.” John 3:3-5 (KJB)

Obviously, the Roman Catholic Church, started by a Roman emperor, is not the Church started by Jesus Christ, they call themselves Christian but are easy-to-spot-counterfeits. But let’s just pretend for a moment that the RCC is a Christian church. Pope Francis says we are ‘all the children of God’, but the Bible says otherwise. Galatians 3:26 says we become God’s children when we become born again by faith. So Francis is wrong on that point. Secondly, in order for a gay person to join an actual Christian church, they would have to be convicted by the witness of scripture that their lifestyle is against God, and be willing to repent of it and from it after getting saved. Let me conclude on a seemingly unrelated sidenote and have you watch the video below of false teacher Andy Stanley taking the Vatican line and extolling the virtues of having gay church members. Amazing when all the pieces comes together, isn’t it?

Pope Francis says homosexuality not a crime

FROM THE AP: Pope Francis criticized laws that criminalize homosexuality as “unjust,” saying God loves all his children just as they are and called on Catholic bishops who support the laws to welcome LGBTQ people into the church.

“Being homosexual isn’t a crime,” Francis said during an exclusive interview Tuesday with The Associated Press.

Francis acknowledged that Catholic bishops in some parts of the world support laws that criminalize homosexuality or discriminate against LGBTQ people, and he himself referred to the issue in terms of “sin.” But he attributed such attitudes to cultural backgrounds, and said bishops in particular need to undergo a process of change to recognize the dignity of everyone. Francis’ comments, which were hailed by gay rights advocates as a milestone, are the first uttered by a pope about such laws. But they are also consistent with his overall approach to LGBTQ people and belief that the Catholic Church should welcome everyone and not discriminate.

Some 67 countries or jurisdictions worldwide criminalize consensual same-sex sexual activity, 11 of which can or do impose the death penalty, according to The Human Dignity Trust, which works to end such laws. Experts say even where the laws are not enforced, they contribute to harassment, stigmatization and violence against LGBTQ people.

Francis quoted the Catechism of the Catholic Church in saying gay people must be welcomed and respected, and should not be marginalized or discriminated against.

“We are all children of God, and God loves us as we are and for the strength that each of us fights for our dignity,” Francis said, speaking to the AP in the Vatican hotel where he lives.

Starting with his famous 2013 declaration, “Who am I to judge?” — when he was asked about a purportedly gay priest — Francis has gone on to minister repeatedly and publicly to the gay and transgender communities. As archbishop of Buenos Aires, he favored granting legal protections to same-sex couples as an alternative to endorsing gay marriage, which Catholic doctrine forbids. READ MORE
