Surge Summary: Celebrities love to scold and lecture regular folks, demanding they sacrifice more and give more toward trendy causes. Perhaps they ought to spend more time investing themselves and their resources toward the objects of concern they claim support.

Hollywood actors and others of considerable means have taken to scolding the “little people,” at their “Hand me a trophy” award shows and other gatherings of the rich and famous.

Their target is the average soul, the workday folks, whose lives are not all glamour and virtue signaling.  Somehow, the average incomer is required to do without and buy certain expensive things in order to comply with whatever today’s urgent issues might be.

Wouldn’t it be nice to hear of these lovelies becoming benefactors of altruistic feats and causes, instead of just scolding and lecturing about how everyone else is supposed to live?

Think of the charities that could be created, the shelters and mental health half way houses that could benefit those in need of a home, where schedules are maintained and medicines doled out.

These people, some who are functional enough to work some kind of a job, have a place to come home to, be fed and cared for, so they can either improve and move on, or have a future off the street.

What about children who are in foster care?

Could an independent non- profit assist DFACS with overseeing the care of vulnerable children?  Obviously, the local and state governments do not have sufficient help to cover everyone. So many children die or fall through the cracks of their care system.

What about jobs?

There are shuttered factories all over the United States. Re-open them and give jobs and job training. Chanel a little JFK and his program of the Job Corp for those who may not be able to go on to higher learning or need special education to get where they need to be to gain a trade, skill and independence. Wealthy patrons could form a cooperative to run these businesses or let employees buy in to have ownership in their careers.

What about housing?

There are so many souls in crisis, who need a reasonably priced place to live. Take abandoned malls, stores and schools, turn them into affordable housing, like an old-fashioned boarding house. Set up a vetting system with due diligence and get people out of the elements. Allow no drugs or unlawful things, have a staff to accomplish this task, paid by a rich benefactor.

All of these suggestions could be accomplished by those with too much money and too many opinions.

This isn’t to say that some wealthy benefactors haven’t been busy.

Virgin billionaire – Richard Branson, of Oceans Unite,

Fabian Cousteau, of Fabian Cousteau Ocean Learning Center, https://www.fabiencousteauolc.org/about-us

He teamed up with Branson for exploration and they produced,

The Blue Hole Belize 2018 Expedition on Discovery Channel.

How about actors?

Denzel Washington has shared his good fortune,

Sandra Bullock is a great benefactress too.

There are more:

That’s 32 of many more that are on the red carpet regularly.

What about the others and the 1% we hear about all the time?

They have plenty. They are willing to share their opinions, but can they put their money where their mouth is?

Please put up or shut up. Regular folks have been scolded enough!
