Black Man Sentenced To 7 Years In Prison For Sucker-Punching 12-Year-Old Boy Dancing On Missouri Sidewalk

(TeaParty.org Exclusive) – Last July, a 12-year-old boy was viciously sucker-punched by a black man in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, while he was minding his own business, dancing on a sidewalk.

The man accused of committing this violent and unprovoked attack has now been sentenced to serve 7 years in prison.

In July of last year, 12-year-old Ethan Hagler was dancing on a sidewalk along Main Street in Cape Girardeau when Cedric Moore pulled up in his SUV, got out, sucker-punched Hagler in the head, and got back in his SUV and sped away.

When Hagler was knocked to the ground by Moore’s punch, the boy’s dance instructor Michael Curry attempted to run after Moore but he quickly evaded the scene.

“And all of a sudden I see him punch my kid and instantly, my first reaction is what? Why?” Curry said in the days after the attack. “You know, I tried to chase him back to the car. And as soon as I got the car, I saw there was two other people in the car. So I had to think about my child. He’s laying on the ground. And from there, it was a lot of people that came up to help, especially Shaker’s the bar downtown that we usually set up in front of.”

Onlookers rushed to Hagler’s aid as he appeared to be dazed and confused from the hit. His mother, Stephanie Hagler, told 5 On Your Side that he had suffered a bloody nose and a concussion as a result.

When she arrived to get him she said she saw a substantial pool of blood on the sidewalk.

“I’ve never seen a tougher, braver kid, especially in that kind of a situation. You know, he just held his head back,” she said. “He was not going to let somebody see him cry. He was so strong and so brave when he had no reason to have to be so.”

Police were able to use video to identify Cedric Moore as the assailant and issued a warrant for his arrest. A few days later, Moore turned himself in.

In 2019, Moore previously pleaded guilty to first-degree endangering the welfare of a child and driving while under the influence. In April of 2019, he was sentenced to probation for domestic assault and the mother of his child was granted an order of protection against him.

The police department said that “The public has understandably expressed a desire to see Moore charged with a hate crime for this heinous crime.”

“In accordance with state statutes, this charge would only apply if the assault was categorized to a lesser degree, which would not be in the best interest of seeking true justice for the victim.”

Moore is exactly the type of person who needs to be sitting behind bars for a long while. We can only hope that during his 7 years in prison he will be able to be rehabilitated so that he can become a productive member of his community rather than a danger and a nuisance.

This is exactly the type of crime, however, fueled by the dangerous Black Lives Matter rhetoric that paints all black people as victims of “white supremacy” and indoctrinates blacks to hate white people for no other reason than the color of their skin.
