Surge Summary: It seems government officials are more concerned about unvaxxed people than they are about those who threaten public health by engaging in risky sexual behavior. COVID hysteria throws more light on troubling societal trends.

by Dr. Jennifer Morse

“The public health establishment is evidently run by sex addicts for sex addicts,” said Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, Ph.D., President of the Ruth Institute. “In a truly perverse move, Illinois decriminalized knowingly putting others at risk of contracting HIV. Meanwhile, New York City will soon mandate COVID vaccination to enter certain public places.”

In repealing a law criminalizing a knowingly HIV-positive person from engaging in high-risk activities, like unprotected sex, donating blood, and sharing needles, Gov. JB Pritzker said the measure will make Illinois a “safer, more inclusive state,” and will advance residents’ “ability to live their lives to the fullest,” as well as remove the “stigma” from the condition.

At the same time, Mayor Bill de Blasio announced that beginning September 13, New Yorkers must prove COVID vaccination to participate in indoor activities, like dining in and attending performances. Several states, including New York and California have mandated vaccination for state employees.

Morse responded: “Great. The public health establishment transfers medical stigmatization from HIV+ citizens to unvaccinated but completely healthy citizens.”

Life Site News noted in a story about Pritzker’s move, “HIV continues to be a debilitating, life-threatening illness, with nearly 40,000 diagnoses in the U.S. in 2018.” The lifespan of HIV positive people is nine years shorter on average than their virus-free peers.

Morse explained, “In Illinois, you can knowingly spread this deadly STD without being penalized, while in New York you can be kept out of restaurants and denied employment for refusing to get vaccinated.

“This shows, once again, that advocates of the Sexual Revolution allow nothing to stand in the way of high-risk activity, as long as it’s sexual activity. Shopping, eating, and going to the movies, not so much.”

In a 2020 interview with Vanity Fair, Dr. Anthony Fauci said he saw nothing wrong with meeting potential partners through an app like Tinder or Grindr. “If you’re looking for a friend, sit in a room and put a mask on, and you know, chat a bit. If you want to go a bit more intimate, well, then that’s your choice regarding a risk,” the chief COVID advisor recommended.

“Last year, Fauci was telling us that engaging in intimate activities with someone you just met on a hook-up app was ‘your choice regarding the risk,’” Morse said. “But now De Blasio is telling New Yorkers that for the un-vaccinated to enter a restaurant poses too great a risk. The public health establishment is either intellectually bankrupt or morally incoherent, or both.”
