(TeaParty.org Exclusive) – While the controversy rages over NBA superstar Kyrie Irving’s refusal to take the COVID jab, a former player for the professional basketball league says his season last year ended after he developed blood clots which he says were caused by the coronavirus vaccine.
According to WND, Brandon Goodwin, who played point guard for the Atlanta Hawks, went on to tell his story during a livestream on Twitch, according to a report from SB Nation reported.
A team report stated that Goodwin’s season stopped in May due to a “minor respiratory condition.” However, the basketball star says that all of his health issues started after he got the vaccine.
“I got sick and I never quite recovered from it,” Goodwin went on to say during the stream, as posted on video platform YouTube. “I would always have back pain, I was just super tired in the games.”
Goodwin eventually decided that it was time to go see a doctor and find out what was going on with his health.
“That’s when I found out I had blood clots. That all within the span of a month,” he recounted.
“I was fine until then,” Goodwin stated. “I was fine up until I took the vaccine, I was fine.”
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have stated that blood clots are a rare side effect that could potentially arise from the Johnson & Johnson’s coronavirus vaccine. In fact, women who are under the age of 50 have been advised to be cautious about taking the vaccine and the possible side effects that might occur.
Goodwin said people tried to tell him, “No. It’s not the vaccine.”
“How do you know?” Goodwin goes on to ask. “You don’t know.”
In a different clip posted on Twitch, Goodwin is adamant that “the vaccine ended my season. One thousand percent.”
Goodwin then said that team management, concerning his condition, stated, “Don’t say anything about it, don’t tell anybody. I’m like ‘Bruh, what?’”
The Hawks ended up not bringing Goodwin back for the 2021-2022 season, and as of now, he has not signed with another NBA team.
“Goodwin averaged 5.5 points off the bench in 13 minutes per game through 81 games. The Hawks signed him to a full-season contract for 2020-21 after breakout performances, SB Nation said, including a 19-point fourth quarter in a comeback win over the Los Angeles Clippers,” the report stated.
In the meantime, the Brooklyn Nets have barred Kyrie Irving from being able to attend practices and playing games until he complies with the NYC vaccine eligibility requirements.
Irving, 29, defended his decision to not be vaccinated during an Instagram Live session.
“Nobody should be forced to do anything with their bodies,” he went on to say during the stream.
“With the Nets scheduled to play 43 games in New York City, including two against the Knicks at Madison Square Garden, Irving could lose as much as $15 million of his $34 million salary, CNN reported,” WND stated.
“Because it was the Nets’ decision not to allow him to play, the seven-time All Star would receive $19 million of his salary for the 41 games his team will play outside of New York City,” the report continued.
