On The Day Of Atonement, Jesus Christ The High Priest Is The ‘Stone Rejected By The Builders’, Pray For The Jews Eyes To Be Opened To Receive The Truth

The Jews in Israel are observing the Day of Atonement, Yom Kippur, in Israel today while at the same time rejecting their High Priest and His atonement for their sins on the cross

This morning, while doing a Bible study in the book of Galatians, where the apostle Paul is holding a masterclass in Law vs. Grace, an email from the Temple Institute in Jerusalem popped up in my email giving me a stunning illustration of Bible truth. That’s for the gentiles, as far as the Jews are concerned, they have rejected Jesus Christ the chief cornerstone, and as such, are without a Temple, an High Priest, and most important of all, they are without a sacrifice for their sins.

“For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them. Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.” Galatians 3:10,13,14 (KJB)

“The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner. This is the LORD’S doing; it is marvellous in our eyes.” Psalm 118:22,23 (KJB)

My email from the Temple Institute said “Today, of course, we are without the Holy Temple and the service of the Kohen Gadol (the High Priest).” But Jesus Christ absolutely is that High Priest who in His own body shed God’s bloods for the sins of the whole world. When I look around the end times landscape, I see born again Christians trying to go back and put themselves under the Law of Moses, this is what Paul was addressing in Galatians. It is equally sad, and perhaps more so, when I see Jews going through beautiful but empty ceremonies, calling out to God while at the same time rejecting His Son spoke of in both Testaments. Pray for the Jews, pray for Israel, they don’t know it but they are actually awaiting Antichrist because they cry out for “Messiah!” while rejecting the actual One who is the Messiah. This is why they will go through the time of Jacob’s trouble.

“For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.” Romans 5:10,11 (KJB)

There are people, and shamefully some Christians among them, who rail against the Jews, calling them “Christ killers”, but I reject that. Why? Because since Jesus died for sinners and to pay for sin, we are all the killers of Jesus Christ. But the whole point of the cross is that God will forgive us for killing His Son, that’s what He shed His blood for, but there is no forgiveness for rejecting His Son. When you do that, you have to pay for your own sins in a place called Hell. This Yom Kippur, it is my prayer and fervent hope for the Jews that some will yet open their eyes to see their true High Priest Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son, and receive payment for their sins through His blood, shed on the cross in Jerusalem two thousand years ago. But you better make your mind up fast, time is running out.

“Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved. For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.” Romans 10:1-4 (KJB)
