(TeaParty.org Exclusive) – Former President Donald Trump is now calling for all of the 18 GOP senators who put their support behind Joe Biden’s disastrous spending bill to be primaried in the near future for betraying the American people and their conservative principles. And with as much influence as Trump still has within the party, you can guarantee that primary opponents will pop out of the woodwork to take these senators on. Guess they should have thought long and hard about the potential consequences for their actions.
According to WND writer Bob Unruh, the spending spree in question is the $1.7 trillion legislation that was passed through Congress right before the holiday season.
“It’s as though [Senate Minority leader Mitch McConnell] just doesn’t care anymore, he pushes through anything the Democrats want. The $1.7 TRILLION quickly approved Bill of the week before was HORRIBLE. Zero for USA Border Security. If he waited just ten days, the now ‘United Republican Congress’ could have made it MUCH BETTER, or KILLED IT. Something is wrong with McConnell, and those Republican Senators that Vote with him. PRIMARY THEM ALL!!!” Trump wrote in a post published on Truth Social, as per the Washington Examiner.
“Trump criticized McConnell for his vote to pass the government omnibus spending bill late last year, repeating previous accusations that the Senate minority leader allowed Democrats to push through several of their agenda items along with the annual budget.” the report revealed.
“The Democrat spending bill included a long list of provisions for government funding over the next year, as well as earmarks that lawmakers insisted on having that provided special spending for their districts,” Unruh noted. “At the Mediaite, a report explained Trump first congratulated Speaker Kevin McCarthy for his election, following 15 rounds of voting.”
The column added that he included a video that featured McCarthy giving credit to former President Trump for his part “in helping negotiate his successful bid for second in line for the presidency.”
The article said that Trump cited Mitch McConnell and “his China flagrant boss, Coco Chow,” making a reference to McConnell’s wife, Elaine Chao.
“The report identified the 18 GOP senators who supported the massive check-writing scheme as Roy Blunt of Missouri, John Boozman of Arkansas, Shelley Capito of West Virginia, Susan Collins of Maine, John Cornyn of Texas, Tom Cotton of Arkansas, Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, Jim Inhofe of Oklahoma, Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, Jerry Moran of Kansas, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, Rob Portman of Ohio, Mitt Romney of Utah, Mike Rounds of South Dakota, Richard Shelby of Alabama, John Thune of South Dakota, Roger Wicker of Mississippi and Todd Young of Indiana,” Unruh stated.
We are living through a new political paradigm where failure to honor traditional conservative values could potentially end your career in Congress. It doesn’t seem the establishment believes this yet, so seeing something like this could help them get the message.
