Turncoat Mike Pence Breaks Silence On Jan. 6, Throws 45 Under The Bus

(TeaParty.org Exclusive) – When former Vice President Mike Pence and former President Donald Trump were first running for office in the 2016 presidential election, they made a fine team and seemed to be good friends. Unfortunately, that relationship fell apart after the events of the 2020 election and the subsequent January 6 riot at the Capitol building when Pence refused to call into question the authenticity of the results of the vote after major evidence emerged there was potential tampering with ballots.

If anyone was hoping that somehow this relationship would be repaired in the future, it doesn’t look good for reconciliation between the two men anytime soon. Especially after the latest comments made by Pence, who many believe is gearing up for a 2024 presidential run of his own.

Bryan Chai of The Western Journal says that Pence has made it crystal clear that Trump is still quite upset with him over the events mentioned above.

“President Trump was wrong,” Pence stated matter-of-factly on Saturday at the Gridiron Dinner, per the Associated Press.

“The Gridiron Dinner is an annual white-tie event, per the AP, that is often attended by politicians and journalists. According to Business Insider, the event is known for ‘its comedic atmosphere,’” Chai wrote for WJ. “Pence reportedly took advantage of that atmosphere by taking lighthearted jabs at numerous figures in the political world, such as President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, per CNN.”

While those particular zingers lacked any real, legitimate bite, the same thing cannot be said about the remarks Pence made about Trump, especially where it concerns how the former president handled Jan. 6.

“I had no right to overturn the election. And his reckless words endangered my family and everyone at the Capitol that day, and I know history will hold Donald Trump accountable,” Pence went on to say, finally breaking his relative silence on the situation.

While the former vice president has separated himself from Trump on most of the matters that pertain to the Capitol riot, he never spoke about those events and the former president himself with as much poison on his lips as he did on Saturday evening.

Uncharacteristically, Pence took a very personal shot at Trump, going so far as to question his faith.

“I read that some of those classified documents they found at Mar-a-Lago were actually stuck in the president’s Bible,” Pence commented. “Which proves he had absolutely no idea they were there.”

Ouch.

Pence then seemingly fired across the bow at anyone who would ask any sort of questions about what went down on Jan. 6.

“Make no mistake about it, what happened that day was a disgrace,” Pence explained. “And it mocks decency to portray it any other way.”

“Many perceived the Saturday night ‘roast’ of Trump as a preview of a potential 2024 Republican primary debate. While neither Pence nor his team have made any such formal announcement about a 2024 presidential bid yet, it’s been speculation that Pence will eventually do so,” Chai penned.

Chai continued, “Perhaps lending credence to the theory that Pence will eventually run for president, CNN noted some remarkably cozy remarks for the establishment media from the former vice president.”

“We were able to stay at our post, in part, because you stayed at your post. The American people know what happened that day because you never stopped reporting,” the former vice president added.

“For what you do to preserve and strengthen this great democracy, you have my heartfelt thanks and I know the thanks of a grateful nation. Thanks for what you do to preserve freedom,” he declared.

The former vice president then made a few comments about Trump’s current legal issues.

“Honestly, I learned a lot working beside Donald Trump, like about subpoenas for instance,” Pence zinged.

It’s sad to see so much bitterness between the two men. Let’s hope, sometime down the line, there is peace and reconciliation. They did a lot of great work together during Trump’s first term, it would be terrible for that to be sidelined by a feud.
