Surge Summary: Marxism, Socialism, Communism, Leftism, Progressivism — all undercut the traditional values which helped build America. Self-rule and limited government were key to the nation’s success. Sensible people must fight for the return of these values.

We hear a lot of different terms used to describe the Democrats. We also hear it often said, “Doesn’t matter who you vote for.  Both parties are basically the same.”  Maybe there was a time when that was accurate, way back when we were a more unified country.

Along with black and white TV with only three channels, the mindset that made us unified is ancient history.  We now have a country so divided there been serious articles and discussions concerning a “national divorce”.

What has really happened, though?  The “how” and the “why” will be the subject for a lot of yet-to-be written books in time.  For right now, let’s take a brief look at the elements that now make up the Democrats.  What used to be easily defined as simply Liberal, now has elements of Marxism, the Left (which includes the New Left), Socialism, Communism, and Progressivism.

Modern Liberals don’t always like being called “liberal”.  However, liberalism itself is more a political and moral philosophy based on the rights of the individual.  Individual liberty and the consent of the governed are supposedly components of liberalism. Notice I said supposedly…hang on to that thought.

The element of Marxism found in modern liberalism is many faceted.  The classic definition of Marxism (from Das Kapital, 1867, by Karl Marx 1818-1883) is the struggle between the bourgeoisie and the proletariat.  Or, in English, the struggle between workers and the ruling class.  Marxism and the works of Karl Marx are the foundational beginning of Communism and Socialism.

The goal of Marxism is Socialism, which amounts to social reorganization of production, distribution and exchange, either owned and/or controlled by the state.

While Marxism is based on revolution and is atheistic, it does allow for a ruling class.  Outright Communism allows for gradual, incremental reform, may allow some theistic beliefs, but ultimately strives for a completely classless society.

Pay even occasional attention to what’s going on and you’ll start to see the small steps towards Marxism and Communism that the Dems are trying.  Socialism is a little more hard to distinguish, and exists in many forms (…think in terms of 1930s Fascist Italy and Nazi Germany, to name but two examples…).  It can be and has been practiced incrementally by both government and the corporate world.

Another term often used is Progressive.  Hillary Clinton has proudly proclaimed to be a progressive.  The main tenet of progressivism is that human society can be improved through political action.  The modern Progressive Era in the U.S. started in 1901 and included Presidents Teddy Roosevelt, Taft and Wilson.  Again, look at our history and you’ll notice Dems have never missed an opportunity to “improve” society through legislation (or executive orders, which ever works best at the moment.)

This is sort of where the term “leftist” comes into play.  Historically, the use of “left” and “right” to describe varying political views dates to the French Revolution of 1789.  In the French National Assembly, supporters of the king sat on the right side of the president; the supporters of the revolution, i.e. the mob, sat on the left.

Although “the left” claims to be egalitarian, and seeks to eliminate the differences between classes of people, the ultimate goal is always complete power.  Equal outcome, not equal opportunity.  Go back and read what Communism wants.

There is also a political rationale known as The New Left.  This school of thought espouses portions of Communism, Marxism, and Socialism, filtered through racism and social hierarchy.  In essence, this is where CRT came from.

There are a couple of things to consider at this point.  Every one of these aforementioned political philosophies-Marxism, Socialism, Communism, The Left, The New Left, Progressivism, LIberalism-all are in direct contrast and opposition to conservatism.  The traditional values of faith and family, free enterprise, private ownership, hard work and the exercise of free will within the boundary of law, all of this is under attack.  And every one of our traditional values is worth preserving.

The other thing to consider is that every one of these political beliefs not only describe Democrats, but they are part of the Democrat Party as a whole.

In Conclusion…

We have got to realize that we’re under attack.  As Christians we need to pull our collective head out of the nether regions and call out the evil we see.  We’re under attack from within, and “…by their fruits shall ye know them.”  (Mt. 7:20) Time to stop making nice.

What we have is worth the struggle to save.  I believe our form of government…as imperfect as we’ve allowed it to become…is truthfully ordained by God.  Read Exodus 18:13-26 where Moses began the system of rule by Judges from the people to be over the people, guided by the Word of God.  This lasted 410 years until Israel desired to be like other nations and demanded a king.  Their first king Saul was a disaster.  Israel then had a long history of bad kings and good kings.  The point is, they abandoned a Godly form of self-rule and opted instead for rule by elites.

Self-rule is God’s will.  We’ve allowed the elites (of both parties) to be in charge for too long.  We The People once again need to self-rule.
