A new ad campaign, dubbed ‘That’s Fentalife!’ aims to catch the attention of residents and elected officials by placing colorful advertisements in different parts of San Francisco where drug use is exceedingly and heartbreakingly high.
Crooner Tony Bennett had massive success with his trademark song ‘I Left My Heart In San Francisco’, harking to a day where the fame ‘city by the bay’ was one of the crown jewels in the promised land of California. That was then, this is now, and what has become of San Francisco? Thanks to drugs like fentanyl, it has become a dystopian ruin populated by drug addled zombies whose flesh is literally rotting off their bones and falling into the streets. What is California doing about this? Apparently nothing.
“And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them.” Revelation 9:6 (KJB)
Things are so bad in San Francisco that a citizen group called TogetherSF Action has launched a tongue-in-cheek awareness campaign called ‘That’s Fentalife!’ designed to somehow shock the elected officials who control the city into some kind of action to turn the tide. So far the clever campaign has fallen on deaf ears, while an average of 68 souls perish every single month due to fentanyl use and addiction. If fentanyl was their only problem, that would be bad enough, but believe it or not it is only part of the story. Rents are sky-high, businesses are fleeing due to soaring crime, and all the while the headlines talk about reparations for slavery and the need for gun control. The dissonance is startling.
Colorful ‘Fentalife’ ad campaign hits streets of drug-plagued San Francisco
FROM THE NY POST: The leader of the activist group, TogetherSF Action, that spearheaded the campaign said the “flippant or cheerful” ads are to “draw a sharp contrast to the darkness of the reality.”
“We don’t want to come on too heavy because we’ve become numb and normalized to the situation,” co-founder and executive director Kanishka Cheng told SF Gate. “The point of the font and bright colors is to draw contrast; it’s about what should be this bright California lifestyle we aspire to have in San Francisco versus the reality playing out on our streets.”
Among the attention grabbing signs include “The Fentalife is no life,” “No yelling while selling drugs. Kids are trying to sleep around here,” and “Drug dealers now have more rights than our kids,” NBC Bay Area reported.
Another ad stated, “Don’t forget to add Narcan to the family shopping list” with a sub-headline that states “We don’t like the new routine. Do you,” according to the San Francisco Standard.
The drug crisis has ravaged the city with a more than 40% jump in overdose deaths from January through March in 2023, according to a press release from the California governor’s office.
Most of the fentanyl-linked deaths have happened near the Tenderloin and South of Market neighborhoods in San Francisco.
Since 2020, about 2,300 people have died from drug overdoses in the city, the San Francisco Chronicle reported. The push comes as the city’s Board of Supervisors works to pass a budget for next fiscal year. READ MORE

- HOW TO DONATE: Click here to view our WayGiver Funding page
Please continue to pray for us, and for wisdom for me especially, as we continue taking steps to print the NTEB branded King James Bible for our free Bible and Bibles Behind Bars program. It is exciting and intimidating at the same time. If the Lord has prospered your financially, we ask you to donate to help us continue to send out free Bibles at this level, and even higher than we are at the moment. It takes a lot of prayer, and a lot of resources to do all this. Praise the Lord we are doing it, all of us together, labouring in the Lord’s harvest field. TO THE FIGHT!!!
When you contribute to this fundraising effort, you are helping us to do what the Lord called us to do. The money you send in goes primarily to the overall daily operations of this site. When people ask for Bibles, we send them out at no charge. When people write in and say how much they would like gospel tracts but cannot afford them, we send them a box at no cost to them for either the tracts or the shipping, no matter where they are in the world. We have a Gospel Billboard program. We are now broadcasting Bible studies, Podcasts and a Sunday Service 5 times a week, thanks to your generous donations. All this is possible because YOU pray for us, YOU support us, and YOU give so we can continue growing.
But whatever you do, don’t do nothing. Time is short and we need your help right now. The Lord has given us an open door with a tremendous ‘course’ for us to fulfill that will create an excellent experience at the Judgement Seat of Christ. Please pray for our efforts, and if the Lord leads you to donate, be as generous as possible. The war is REAL, the battle HOT and the time is SHORT…TO THE FIGHT!!!
