My name is Rob Beaty and yes I have Cancer again. Back in 2019 I was diagnosed with colon cancer which settled in my rectum and sigmoid colon.

I have known Rob Beaty for just about the entire time I have been on Facebook going all the way back to 2010, and during that time he has always been a good friend and a Christian brother to me. Rob is part of the original NTEB 1.0 crew, and as many of you know, he has been battling stage 4 colon cancer. We’ve had him on our prayer list for quite some time. Things got so bad that just a few months ago his doctors placed him in hospice, and told him prepare for the end. He did that, but the Lord had other plans.

“Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.” Jeremiah 33:3 (KJB)

We rejoice with Rob that he’s getting better, and that it seems, at least for now, his cancer is in remission. But during all that time he was in the hospital, and hospice, he was unable to work. The good news is he’s getting VA benefits, the bad news is they don’t kick in for a little while yet. In the meantime, a GoFundMe has been set up to help ‘cover the gap’ to help him pay his bills until the benefits starts. I have personally donated to it, and now prayerfully ask any of you who might want to help to do so. NTEB is a family, and we stick together and help each other when times get tough.

After a four day hospital stay, a succesful surgery and living with an ostomy bag for 7 1/2 months I thought I was cured. Then in November last year after a routine CT scan it was found the cancer had returned and in a big way. CANCER 2.0 This time it turns out to be metastatic and has settled in my liver, upper right lung, sigmoid colon and a tumor next to my right kidney. In early March I started chemo treatments with everything going according to schedule when I became extremely tired and weak. A blood test revealed I had become anemic and dehydrated, a transfusion of fluids and two days later a blood transfusion was ordered. Not a usual occurrence after just one chemo treatment. That weekend I started suffering from intense cramping in my abdomen, diarrhea, hiccups and the worse case of fatigue I’ve ever experienced. On Monday afternoon I took a ambulance ride to the hospital.
