(TeaParty.org Exclusive) – While Congress continues to completely ignore the billions of dollars worth of damages and countless violent attacks against law enforcement all around the country at the hands of Black Lives Matter and Antifa terrorists, they’re certainly not allowing the Jan. 6 outrage to die anytime soon.
On Wednesday, the House of Representatives passed legislation taking them one step closer to forming an independent 9/11-style commission with the sole purpose of investigating the Jan. 6 Capitol riot.
The goal of the commission will be to investigate and also make recommendations to prevent future incidents.
We wonder, will Nancy Pelosi’s complete refusal to take action on Jan. 6 despite the intelligence she received indicating an attack was imminent be investigated further?
What’s most troubling about this legislation is that it was supported by 35 Republicans. It’s painfully obvious that the commission will be used to target Trump and his supporters yet 35 Republicans decided to support it.
In a 252-175 vote, the legislation passed the House and now moves on to the 50-50 split Senate.
Among GOP supporters was Rep. Peter Meijer of Michigan. In a show of support for the commission, he slammed his colleagues saying they have tried to “whitewash and rewrite the shameful events” that took place on Jan. 6.
“If we avoid confronting what happened here just a few short months ago, we can be sure that intimidation, coercion, and violence will become a defining feature of our politics for generations to come,” Meijer said in a floor speech.
Ironically, those very tactics are currently being used, and have been being used, by the Democrats and supporting this commission will only ensure the Democrats continue to use “intimidation, coercion, and violence” to accomplish their agenda.
The lies and misinformation regarding what really happened on Jan. 6 that was spread by Democrats and their media sycophants is just one example of the intimidation and coercion they readily employ.
It is, in fact, the Democrats who have attempted to not only “rewrite” what happened on Jan. 6 but make up a totally fictional story altogether. Shame on Meijer and the 34 other Republicans who support this blatant political witch hunt.
The legislation will require 60 votes in the Senate to advance and fortunately it seems unlikely that 10 Republicans will give their support. Minority Leader Mitch McConnell R-KY has seemingly found his backbone again and said he will oppose the “slanted and unbalanced” independent commission.
The commission will undoubtedly be used to keep President Trump in the spotlight in a negative way all the way up to 2024. They are desperate to keep Trump out of the White House and instead of focusing on fixing the real problems facing Americans right now, caused by Biden, they’re still obsessing over their hatred of President Trump.
If the Democrats were truly concerned about political violence in America, they would be investigating the ongoing violence by Antifa and BLM that has plagued American cities for the last year. The Democrats, however, made sure that that kind of political violence would not be a focus of this commission at all.
It’s all a farce.
