“It’s A Long Tradition In Rhode Island,” Dem Sen. Whitehouse Defends His Membership At All-White Club

(TeaParty.org Exclusive) – Democrats are full of crap. They claim to care about racial “equality” in America but in reality, they’re just saying whatever it takes for them to get elected and maintain power.

Progressive Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) is a perfect example of this. While Whitehouse portrays himself as some kind of social justice warrior in the Senate Chamber, he goes home to Rhode Island and sips cocktails and enjoys hors d’oeuvres at the all-white country club where his family has had a decades-long membership.

That doesn’t sound a whole lot like fighting systemic racism, now does it?

A local reporter approached him on Friday in Pawtucket and asked whether or not the beach club, Bailey’s Beach Club in Newport, had started admitting any minorities.

The reporter prefaced her question by pointing out that back in 2017, Whitehouse had expressed concern over the fact that the club did not have any minority members and that he hoped that the club would become more diverse and also noted that his wife is one of the largest shareholders.

“I think the people who are running the place are still working on that and I’m sorry it hasn’t happened yet,” Whitehouse said.

The reporter went on to bring up the fact that Whitehouse has made comments on the Senate floor regarding the deaths of Breonna Taylor and George Floyd and has asserted that America must root out systemic racism.

She asked if he thought “elite, all-white wealthy” clubs should continue to exist.

“It’s a long tradition in Rhode Island and there are many of them and I think we just need to work our way through the issues, thank you,” he responded.

The reality is, Whitehouse is just a typical Democrat who’s willing to preach about “systemic racism” and the need for “equality” and “equity” in America to make you and I uncomfortable but he isn’t willing to put his money where his mouth is.

Whitehouse doesn’t want to give up his exclusive membership to his all-white country club. He doesn’t want to make any changes in his own life to prove that he means what he says and says what he means.

Of course, we shouldn’t be surprised by this at all. He’s a Democrat and its’ not the first time he’s been asked about his membership to the racially exclusive club.

Back in 2017, GoLocal news editor Kate Nagle confronted Whitehouse about his membership to the club and the fact that there were no minority members.

Back then he stated, “I think it would be nice if they (Bailey’s Beach Club) changed a little bit, but it’s not my position.”

When asked if he’d be willing to pressure the private club to admit minorities, especially considering his wife is one of the biggest stakeholders, he responded that he “will take that up privately.”

Like a gentleman’s gentleman. While he’s willing to yell at and lecture Americans from his ivory tower in Washington DC about systemic racism, he seems perfectly comfortable with it right in his own backyard.

This blatant hypocrisy is just the standard for Democrats. It’s President Trump, however, that we’re all supposed to believe is the real racist and white supremacist despite opening his Mar-a-Lago resort to blacks and Jews back in the 1990’s.

“When Donald opened his club in Palm Beach called Mar-a-Lago, he insisted on accepting Jews and blacks even though other clubs in Palm Beach to this day discriminate against blacks and Jews. The old guard in Palm Beach was outraged that Donald would accept blacks and Jews so that’s the real Donald Trump that I know,” author Ronald Kessler said in a July 2015 interview.

President Trump has been shaking up the status quo for decades and that’s exactly why the Democrats hate him.
