(TeaParty.org Exclusive) – Senator Rand Paul is no fan of Dr. Fauci. That has become abundantly clear. It’s also become apparent Paul is one of the few members of Congress willing to go after Fauci despite the Biden regime’s protections of him.
Sen. Paul is demanding Fauci be held accountable for the numerous lies he has told to Congress, which is a federal crime, not the least of which was his claim that the National Institutes of Health were not funding gain-of-function research in Wuhan when, in fact, they were.
The two clashed again this week in a contentious exchange during a congressional hearing. Now Paul seems to have had enough of Fauci’s deflections and lies. On Wednesday, Sen. Paul sent a criminal referral of Dr. Fauci to the Department of Justice.
In a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland, Paul insists that an investigation is necessary into comments made by Fauci during a congressional hearing in May.

During that hearing, Fauci claimed that the NIH “has not ever and does not now fund gain-of-function research in the Wuhan Institute of Virology.”
However, as Sen. Paul has pointed out, in accordance with typical “gain-of-function” definitions, including one given by Fauci himself in 2012, a study published in 2017 by Wuhan researchers would most certainly be considered to be “gain-of-function” research.
“I ask that you investigate whether Dr. Fauci’s statements to Congress” violate federal law, Paul wrote in the letter to AG Garland.
Sen. Paul accused Fauci of lying during a Senate hearing earlier in the day, and Fauci shot back and accused Paul of being the one who was lying and now knowing what he was talking about.
Things just got tense between Senator @RandPaul and Dr. Fauci.

The Epoch Times reports:
At issue is funding Fauci’s agency gave to the Wuhan Institute of Virology through an intermediary. The top-level laboratory used the money to conduct gain-of-function experiments, Paul said, citing the U.S. government’s definition of the term. Fauci claims that the experiments conducted don’t fit the definition.
Of course, the experiments conducted absolutely fall under the umbrella of gain-of-function, as Sen. Paul noted numerous times. He gave Fauci the opportunity to retract comments he made before Congress in May but Fauci declined.
Fauci is the head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, which is part of the NIH. Sen. Paul contends that Fauci is morally responsible for the COVID-19 outbreak and subsequent pandemic.
Fauci has clearly been a part of the cover-up of the COVID-19 origins and if he lied before Congress he should be held accountable for that.
Sadly, Fauci appears to be protected by the Biden regime and will likely face no consequences at all. That’s probably the reason he’s perfectly comfortable telling brazen lies before Congress.
Not only has Fauci lied before Congress, he’s lied to the American people. This became evident when thousands of his emails were put on display for the country to see.
He has attempted to defend himself by asserting that, essentially, Americans just aren’t smart enough to understand science. Somehow, Fauci still has a job despite calls from Republicans for Fauci to step down.
Joe Biden told reporters last month he is “very confident in Dr. Fauci.” It’s clear Fauci is a liar but too valuable to the Biden regime to let go of.
