When The Lord Called Me To Preach On The Streets 10 Years Ago, He Raised Up A Brother To Put A Street Preacher License Plate On My Car

I will never forget the day that the Lord confirmed my call to personal work in the streets by raising up a brother to put a Street Preacher license plate on my car

How well I remember that time in my life when the Lord called me to preach on the streets, I wrestled with that call for 10 months before surrendering, and when I did it almost immediately began to bear fruit. Fruit that continues to this day. Please allow me to share with you the story of how God put a street preacher license plate on my car, and confirmed my call to ministry.

“Yea, so have I strived to preach the gospel, not where Christ was named, lest I should build upon another man’s foundation:” Romans 15:20 (KJB)

When the Lord moved me to Florida, I had a few months alone before my kids caught up with me, and I used that time to walk along the beautiful historic downtown of Saint Augustine, getting acquainted with the geography and the people. It was there that God called me to preach on the street, Saint George street in particular, and after a wrestling period I surrendered to do just that. Almost immediately it grew into a near movement with thousands of tracts being handed out, men of God preaching on the 4 corners, and people getting saved. God gave me a team of military men to start the work, and He absolutely blessed it. I am happy to tell you that that ministry continues to this day, and still bearing fruit for the Lord. Amen!

About a year or so after that, I was attending a King James Bible Conference, with preachers from all over the country, I struck up a conversation with one particular man over his rather unique front license plate that read STREET PREACHER in big, block letters. Seeing that I was newly called to the streets, it fascinated me. Long story short, we all went out for lunch after the conference to a nearby eatery. When the meal was over, people started leaving until it was just me and one or two men. Imagine my surprise when I walked out to my car, the sun already starting to set, and saw that STREET PREACHER license plate firmly attached to the front of my truck! What a blessing that was, and I rejoiced all the way home. Flash-forward to right now as I write this, that exact same plate remains on the front of my truck nearly 10 years later. I consider it one of God’s many precious promised to me personally.

I am so happy to now be able to make available a beautiful updated version of that plate for sale to anyone and everyone who feels called to preach on the street. FAIR WARNING! People will look at that Street Preacher plate, and begin to make assumptions and associations. Do not purchase one if you are prone to road rage and flipping people off. That would be a horrible testimony. Do not purchase one if you are an overly aggressive driver. Hot heads in no wise advance the cause of Christ. But please do purchase one if it’s your stated aim to be a sober and mature witness for the Lord Jesus Christ by handing out gospel tracts on the street and preaching on the street corners. Trust me, you will become associated with being a ‘street preacher’, and it’s a lot to live up to. That plate on your car will speak volumes.

Many times since I started NTEB, at some of the lowest moments of my life where I was really up against it and stuck way down in the valley, my eye would catch a glimpse of that license plate and it would be a wonderful reminder of God’s faithfulness of His call on my life. What has God called you to do? Let’s be busy about our Father’s business in these last days, let’s get out in the streets and preach. I am so excited to once again be leading the NTEB Street Team into action this Saturday for Nights Of Lights just like we did last year.  TO THE FIGHT!!
