Don’t get mad at me, I’m just the messenger, but Donald Trump just posted to his Truth Social page an AI-generated image entitled ‘Chipocalypse Now’ referring to the upcoming invasion of Chicago by his newly created Department of War. That’s what Trump said , I didn’t say that, he said that. Silly me, I thought I could take a few hours off to go shopping at Costco without all Hell breaking loose, silly me, but here we are. A sitting US president ‘joking’ about invading a state is not funny, but he’s not joking, that’s the memo.

They renamed the Department of War under the National Security Act of 1947 to the Department of Defense because, after fighting 2 world wars back to back, America wanted peace. The name change was a symbolic gesture towards that peace, and sadly, it has proved elusive in light of the Korean War, Vietnam War, Gulf Wars 1 & 2 and all the other incursions that came after. But here in 2025, peace is being taken off the table with the also-symbolic executive order President Trump signed yesterday to bring back the names ‘Department of War’ and the ‘Secretary of War’. The Deep State wants war, and every time Trump touches his right ear, he’s reminded of why he has to give it to them. FROM MEDIAITE: Donald Trump critics were beside themselves over the president’s Saturday Truth Social post that featured an AI re-imagining of the war movie “Apocalypse Now,” which he rebranded as “Chipocalypse Now.”

“I love the smell of deportations in the morning…” Trump posted. “Chicago about to find out why it’s called the Department of WAR,” in reference to Trump’s rebranding of the Department of Defense.

Behind an AI-generated image of Trump as a key character in the movie is a depiction of Chicago burning with helicopters hovering over the city. Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson (D) was quick to respond on X, writing, “The President’s threats are beneath the honor of our nation, but the reality is that he wants to occupy our city and break our Constitution. We must defend our democracy from this authoritarianism by protecting each other and protecting Chicago from Donald Trump.”

Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker (D) also posted a response on X, writing, “The President of the United States is threatening to go to war with an American city. This is not a joke. This is not normal. Donald Trump isn’t a strongman, he’s a scared man. Illinois won’t be intimidated by a wannabe dictator.”
