Luzerne County Correctional Facility In Wilkes-Barre Pennsylvania Wants To Provide King James And Spanish Bibles To All 600 Of Their Inmates

The Book Behind Bars: We Are Sending the King James Bible Deep into the Luzerne County Correctional Facility Located in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania

The Luzerne County Correctional Facility in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania is a large castellated Gothic jail built of local yellow Campbell’s Ledge sandstone, and when storm clouds blow in, it can be quite visually intimidating, to say the least. The facility functions as the principal county jail and correctional facility for Luzerne County, housing individuals awaiting trial/sentencing and also short-term sentences. Chaplain Andy from Luzerne reached out to us to see if we could help answer his fervently-held prayer to provide Bibles for all his inmates who want one. Nearly all of them do.

“For he hath looked down from the height of his sanctuary; from heaven did the LORD behold the earth; To hear the groaning of the prisoner; to loose those that are appointed to death;” Psalm 102:19,20 (KJB)

Chap wrote to us and said “Hello, my name is Andy, and I am the facility chaplain for Luzerne County correctional facility. I am hoping to see if we may qualify for some free Spanish and English Bibles. I am hoping to have enough Bibles to put in circulation for all of the believers in the facility that are requesting one. Currently we have an inmate population of roughly 600 inmates most of which report a Christian belief. I want to thank you so much for your ministry in the Lord Jesus and thank you for your time and consideration in this matter.” 600 Bibles for 600 inmates, that’s the request.
