Kirk Cameron, once the face of the ‘Left Behind’ Pretribulation Rapture franchise, is now working to ‘heavenize Earth’ with the 7 Mountains Mandate kingdom

Former ‘Left Behind’ star Kirk Cameron, once the face of pre-tribulation franchise, has been making the rounds in interviews and conferences sounding less like a man watching for the Blessed Hope — and more like a man preparing to rebuild the Kingdom now. In recent interviews with outlets like Faithwire and CBN, Cameron has spoken passionately about “creating culture,” “transforming society,” and “taking back the nation.” To the casual listener, those sound like patriotic rally cries — but to the Bible believer, that language should sound a loud alarm. Because it is nearly identical to the Seven Mountains Mandate, a Dominionist teaching infiltrating and infecting much of modern evangelicalism.

“And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.” 1 Thessalonians 1:10 (KJB)

The Seven Mountains Mandate (7MM) teaches that Christians must conquer seven spheres of society — Family, Religion, Education, Media, Arts & Entertainment, Business, and Government — to usher in the Kingdom of God on earth. Its roots trace back to charismatic leaders like Bill Bright and Loren Cunningham, but it has since evolved into a global movement teaching that believers must “take dominion” before Christ can return.

That is not biblical Christianity. The Bible says the world will “wax worse and worse” (2 Timothy 3:13), and that Christ Himself will establish His Kingdom at His coming (Revelation 19). Yet 7MM reverses this order — claiming the Church must prepare the world for Christ, not watch for Him.

In 2022, Cameron told The Christian Post:

“My goal shouldn’t be to get from Earth to Heaven, but to be saved and transformed so that I can bring Heaven to Earth,” Cameron said

Since then, his tone has moved steadily toward cultural dominionism. In 2024, he told CBN:

“We’re the ones who have been commissioned to create the culture, not retreat from it.”

Now, instead of urging believers to “come out from among them” (2 Corinthians 6:17), Cameron encourages Christians to “transform culture” — a direct echo of Seven Mountains theology. While there’s no record of Cameron publicly claiming the Seven Mountains label, his rhetoric mirrors its core ideas: reclaiming the culture, rebuilding America, and “bringing heaven to earth.” In today’s climate, that message is the new ecumenical glue uniting evangelicals, charismatics, and political movements under the banner of “Kingdom Now.” It is the Christian Nationalism of Trump’s Golden Age.

The Seven Mountains agenda sounds inspiring — who wouldn’t want godly influence in government, schools, or media? But it swaps the Gospel of grace for a gospel of earthly power. It replaces ‘that blessed hope’ with an imagined earthly utopia.

Bible believers must never forget: we are ambassadors, not architects. We occupy, not overthrow. We warn, not rebuild.

The true Kingdom comes after the Rapture — when the King Himself returns in glory (Revelation 19:11-16). Until then, our mission is clear: “Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.” (2 Timothy 4:2), not conquer the mountains of men. Kirk Cameron has abandoned the Pre-Trib position not because it’s wrong, but because it no longer matches the desires of his heart. Why spend your time looking for Jesus in the clouds when you could have ‘heaven on Earth’ here and now? Ahh, yes, the Laodicean Church is alive, well and looking for converts, don’t let them steal your ‘blessed hope’!
