GOD’S KITCHEN: As Government Shutdown Cancels SNAP Benefits, NTEB Aims To Help Local Food Delivery Ministry To Greatly Increase Their Production

Dennis Childers is on a mission from God to deliver hot meals, prayer and Bibles to people in need in Putnam County through his God’s Kitchen ministry

God’s Kitchen is a non-profit, faith based ministry here in Palatka, delivering hot meals to Senior Adults, the housebound, the disabled, and to people struggling to feed their families. New requests for meals have begun to rise dramatically since the announcement of the freeze on SNAP benefits, otherwise known as food stamps. Dennis Childers has been on a mission from God since 2014 to provide food, prayer and Bibles to ‘the least of these’, and now we’re going to do what we can to assist him in that effort. What we raise will help to feed hundreds more people each month.

“For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.” Matthew 25:35,36 (KJB)

We first met Dennis over a year ago when he stopped into our newly-opened Bookstore location in Palatka, he asked us if we could supply him with Bibles and we’ve been happily doing that ever since. During that time, we’ve gotten to know him and his unique food delivery ministry, as the Lord gently began leading us to offer a greater level of assistance. Everything came to a head last weekend. With all the excitement of food stamps being cancelled for 42 million people while the elites eat caviar, we really wanted to do something that would make a real-world difference. So the Lord opened a door.

God’s Kitchen recently purchased a building to expand their operations, and like the people at Vineyard Transitional Center, they really need some help to get it online. The photo at the top of this article is their new location housed in a former church building. This is a ministry that is passionately concerned with feeding the hungry, the salvation of souls and the encouragement of the body of Christ. People get saved on a regular basis as these meals are delivered, and that is something we really need to support.

The larger facility will give God’s Kitchen the ability to serve more than 3,000 hot meals per month, with everyone who receives a meal also being offered a Bible and prayer. The Lord put on our hearts to, if we can, raise $25,000+ to be used 100% for the completion of the new kitchen. They receive zero assistance from local, state or the federal government, relying instead on the prayers and giving of God’s people. All the food is donated, the chefs who cook it are volunteers, the people who deliver it are volunteers, and is all done for the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ. We took an informal poll in the chat room Monday during the Podcast, and literally everyone enthusiastically said this is something we should do. This is where you come in. Our goal is to raise $25,000, or more, to be given directly to God’s Kitchen to help bring the new facility online. An undertaking of this magnitude can only be done through much prayer, and if the Lord has prospered you, we invite you to come and help us keep the supply lines open. I am excited to see what the Lord will do, come help us!

When you contribute to this fundraising effort, you are helping us to do what the Lord called us to do. The money you send in goes primarily to the overall daily operations of this site. When people ask for Bibles, we send them out at no charge. When people write in and say how much they would like gospel tracts but cannot afford them, we send them a box at no cost to them for either the tracts or the shipping, no matter where they are in the world. We have a Gospel Billboard program. We are now broadcasting Bible studies, Podcasts and a Sunday Service 5 times a week, thanks to your generous donations. All this is possible because YOU pray for us, YOU support us, and YOU give so we can continue growing.

But whatever you do, don’t do nothing. Time is short and we need your help right now. The Lord has given us an open door with a tremendous ‘course’ for us to fulfill that will create an excellent experience at the Judgement Seat of Christ. Please pray for our efforts, and if the Lord leads you to donate, be as generous as possible. The war is REAL, the battle HOT and the time is SHORT…TO THE FIGHT!!!
