Trump’s Midterm Disaster Is Brewing In The Middle East As Houthi Missiles, Iranian Pressure And $4.43 Gasoline Converge At The Worst Possible Time

A lightning Houthi advance through western Yemen has placed the Iranian-backed terror army astride the Bab al-Mandab Strait, the narrow maritime gateway connecting the Indian Ocean with the Red Sea and Suez Canal. The Houthis do not need uncontested ownership of every mile of water to control what happens there; with Mayun Island, coastal territory, missiles, drones and explosive boats, they possess the power to make passage too dangerous and expensive for commercial shipping. Iran is already squeezing the Strait of Hormuz, and now its Houthi allies are threatening the alternative route Saudi Arabia desperately needs to move its oil around that blockade. Donald Trump’s war with Iran has become a battle over two of the most important energy chokepoints on the planet. It’s the never-ending war.

“For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.” Matthew 24:7 (KJB)

That is why the national average for regular gasoline has surged to $4.43 per gallon, nearly 39 percent higher than one year ago, while diesel has reached a record $6.40 per gallon. Those prices will not remain confined to the gas station. Diesel moves America’s food, medicine, building materials and consumer goods, meaning the cost of this expanding war will soon appear in nearly every grocery aisle and household bill. Iran and the Houthis do not need to defeat the United States military; they need only keep the oil lanes unstable long enough to make the conflict economically unbearable. Bombing Iran cannot permanently secure Hormuz, Bab al-Mandab, Yemen, Iraq and every Saudi refinery, pipeline and tanker simultaneously.

And all of this is unfolding just weeks before the midterm elections. Trump now faces the nightmare combination of an open-ended Middle Eastern war, gasoline approaching $5 nationally, record diesel prices, renewed inflation and no clearly defined path to victory. The Houthis have reportedly assured Washington that they will avoid American and most international shipping while continuing to target Saudi vessels and oil infrastructure. That arrangement may keep American warships out of another immediate fight, but it still permits the Houthis to choke Saudi exports, drive up world oil prices and make American consumers pay. Tehran has discovered that its greatest weapon may not be a missile or nuclear device—it may simply be time.

This is the Middle East spiraling exactly as we have warned it would: Iran controlling one pressure point, its proxies tightening another, Saudi Arabia under siege, Israel watching for the next front and the United States being pulled deeper into a war it cannot easily finish. This does not mean that every breaking headline is the fulfillment of one particular prophecy, but there is no mistaking the direction of travel. The nations are being gathered, the ancient fault lines are opening, and the whole world is becoming increasingly dependent upon decisions made in the very region where Bible prophecy says history will reach its glorious and terrible end times climax.
