(TeaParty.org Exclusive) – Facebook has taken it upon themselves to determine what political figures are worthy enough of being granted the privilege of a public platform on their network. As you can imagine, outspoken conservatives fighting against the radical left are typically determined not to be worthy.
President Trump has officially been suspended from Facebook for a minimum of two years. Facebook announced their latest sentence on Friday saying that on January 7, 2023 they will re-examine whether Trump will be permitted back on their platform based on experts’ opinions.
The experts will weigh in on whether or not Trump still poses a “serious risk to public safety.” Surely these supposed “experts” will be unbiased nonpartisans. (Yeah, right.)
Not only is Trump banned but videos of the rightful president are banned on Facebook and Instagram.
Facebook wasted no time banning Trump from their platform, something they had been dying to do for the entire duration of his presidency. The very next day after the Jan. 6 Capitol riot Facebook took action to suspend his account.
On May 5, Facebook’s Oversight Board issued a statement upholding the ban of Trump and on Friday Facebook issued a complete statement explaining that Trump would be banned for a minimum of two years.
Facebook claimed in their statement that President Trump was banned over his “praise for people engaged in violence at the Capitol on January 6,” despite there being no evidence of this.
Interestingly, it seems Facebook went from accusing Trump of instigating the riot to claiming that he “praised” those involved. They don’t have evidence to back up either statement but it sure is interesting to see how they’ve downgraded the charges.
Facebook attempted to make their Oversight Board appear to be a legitimate, nonpartisan entity claiming that the Board “criticized the open-ended nature of the suspension” and that they told Facebook “it was not appropriate.”
The Board supposedly instructed Facebook to be more reasonable and “review the decision and respond in a way that is clear and proportionate.”
They further explained that they have established “new enforcement protocols to be applied in exceptional cases such as this,” before going on to say that the “gravity of the circumstances that led to” Trump’s suspension are considered a “severe violation” which require the “highest penalty available.”
Facebook officials sure do take themselves awfully serious, don’t they? It’s almost comical to read their overly authoritative statement.
They continue on and on and say that at the end of Trump’s suspension period their “experts” will “assess whether the risk to public safety has receded.” Naturally, if Facebook, in their infinite wisdom, determines that Trump still poses a “serious risk to public safety” they will continue to ban him for another set amount of time to be re-evaluated again.
There seems to be hope, however. The company said, “When the suspension is eventually lifted, there will be a strict set of rapidly escalating sanctions that will be triggered if Mr. Trump commits further violations in future, up to and including permanent removal of his pages and accounts.”
Once President Trump completes his Facebook jail sentence, he’ll be released back into the community on what essentially appears to be parole.
What a joke. The folks at Facebook need to get over themselves. The man who received 74 million votes from Americans and started a historic movement to revive America is certainly not in need of a babysitter.
Who does Facebook think they are?
