The Incredible Events Of The Last Supper In The Upper Room Illustrates Perfectly The Revealing Of The Man Of Sin At The Pretribulation Rapture Of The Church

At the exact moment Judas goes from being the man of sin to the son of perdition, the scripture sayeth that he immediately goes ‘down and out into darkness’, while the disciples are ‘up in the air’ with Jesus

Many people are puzzled, baffled and otherwise flummoxed when attempting to unravel the end times timeline for the Church given to us prophetically by our apostle Paul in 2 Thessalonians 2:1-3 in your King James Bible. Over the years, all sorts of crazy interpretations like the falling away is actually the Rapture, the Day of Christ and the Day of the Lord is talking about the same events, and every other type of Laodicean insanity have been put forth to try and make sense of these verses. Of course, you could always just compare scripture with scripture and rightly divide what you read, but that’s too much work, who wants to do that? We do!

“Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.” 2 Thessalonians 2:1-4 (KJB)

Ok, Bible believers, let’s do this by the numbers. Verse 1 is showing you our ‘gathering together unto him‘, when you compare this to 1 Thessalonians 4:15-18 you see clearly this is a reference to the Pretribulation Rapture of the Church. This also defines the term the ‘day of Christ‘ that we see in verse 2 as also being a reference to the Rapture of the Church. Still with me? So far we haven’t done much interpretation, all we have done is compare scripture with scripture. Verse 3, however, is where most Christians throw up their hands and say “we’re not looking for Antichrist!!” and go back to watching cat videos on YouTube. Just what is Paul talking about when he says the ‘man of sin’ will be revealed just prior to the Pretribulation Rapture of the Church? To answer this perplexing (to some) question, the gospel of John has the answer. (Much of John is addressed to the Church Age, see for yourself here.)

He then lying on Jesus’ breast saith unto him, Lord, who is it? Jesus answered, He it is, to whom I shall give a sop, when I have dipped it. And when he had dipped the sop, he gave it to Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon. And after the sop Satan entered into him. Then said Jesus unto him, That thou doest, do quickly. He then having received the sop went immediately out: and it was night.” John 13:26,27,30 (KJB)

If you haven’t read our article entitled ‘Does The King James Bible Reveal The Identity Of The Coming End Times Antichrist?’ you might want to take a moment and go read it before continuing with this article. Ok ready? Let’s proceed.

In John 13, always keep an eye out for the number 13 as it is associated with Antichrist almost as much as 666, we see the last supper in the upper room with Jesus, His disciples, and of course, Judas the betrayer. Up to this point in the three and one half year ministry of Jesus, Judas has distinguished himself as the devil that he always was. In fact, you could quite accurately say that Judas was the ‘man of sin’ from the very beginning. One such ‘highlight’ of this is found in the story of Mary of Bethany in John 12:1-8 where we see Judas, the scripture calls him a lying thief, mocking Mary’s incredible sacrifice of her alabaster box. Judas not only mocks it, he is showing unfiltered contempt for the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus as the passage clearly shows you. Judas was always the ‘man of sin’, he was never a good guy, and in the upper room he gets an dubious ‘promotion’ to becoming the Son of Perdition. Ever ask yourself why Jesus would purposely chose Judas as a disciple? One main reason would have to be so there was a type of the tares mixed in with the wheat, the ‘wolf lying down with the lamb’ from Isaiah 11:6. Get it? Good, now back to the events in the upper room as a type of the Rapture of the Church.

The disciples are all asking Jesus who the betrayer is, and Jesus tells them plainly to watch and see who dips the sop in the dish, because that’s the guy. At the moment Judas takes his sop from the dish (SOP is son of perdition, just coincidentally), Satan enters into him and he becomes the Son of Perdition, a type of Antichrist. But watch what happens next. At the exact moment Judas goes from being the man of sin to the son of perdition, the scripture sayeth that he immediately goes ‘down and out into darkness’. Darkness being a type of the time of Jacob’s trouble and the great tribulation. But where are the disciples? They are up in the air with Jesus Christ in the upper room! (if you’re looking for a sign, this is it!)

This is what Paul is talking about in 2 Thessalonians, when the man of sin is revealed, however that happens, the Church will be safely taken UP in the air to be with Jesus Christ. John shows us this in type, Paul shows us this in prophecy, and one day very soon we will live out those verses when our beautiful Saviour, Jesus of Nazareth, catches us up and away to be with Him forever. So where is the exact moment of the Pretribulation Rapture of the Church? It’s contained in the comma between ‘be revealed‘ and ‘the son of perdition‘ in 2 Thessalonians 2:3. There it is, you’re welcome!
